Our habit
Most of what passes for “vintage” is just old. The difference is in the joinery, the veneer match, the label under the drawer — and in whether anyone bothered to look.
Every piece on this site was inspected in person before it was bought. We photograph the flaws alongside the highlights, name the maker when the evidence supports it, and say “attributed to” when it doesn't. If a drawer sticks, that's in the description.
Restoration is deliberate and reversible where possible. A cerused oak credenza gets its grain re-packed, not a coat of paint. Original hardware stays original.
How we source and restore01
Nothing is bought from a photograph. Condition notes come from hands on the piece, not a listing.
02
Maker, era and materials are stated plainly. Where attribution is a judgment call, we say so.
03
Crated and shipped by furniture specialists, not parcel carriers. Local delivery and placement available.
04
Designers and dealers get preferential pricing, holds, and first look at pieces before they're listed.
“A credenza built in 1962 was made by someone who expected it to outlast them. That's not nostalgia — it's just a different set of instructions.”
The archive
Sold pieces stay in the catalogue. It's the clearest record of what we handle — and it's how you tell us what to look for next.
